Outgoing President Message 2018
Mary Gerding - 2018 CREW Cleveland President
It’s been an honor....
Thank you CREW Cleveland for your support in 2018. The year brought heaps of activity and technology change. While Network's June Leadership Summit in Cleveland and our 30th Anniversary Jubilee were the headliners, the Board was organizing and planning for the future. Historic hard copy documents were organized, scanned and populated into an electronic file system. We retired Cleveland's direct telephone number and instead will publish Network's general number for referral to our Administrator as needed. This fall CREW Cleveland's eblast announcements moved to a new delivery platform. The Communications Committee introduced Instagram and Twitter postings while shoring up Facebook and Linked-in, keeping us current in social media circles. Local website design is under review for added improvements coming 2019. Be sure to check daily on the CREW Network blog to find member-to-member business opportunities and chapter leadership ideas. read more

A Challenge to all CREW Cleveland Members
By Diane Strojin, CREW Cleveland Foundation Champion
CREW Cleveland, as your 2019 Foundation Champion, I have a challenge for you. Do you want to help bring more women into the commercial real estate industry as well as support scholarships, industry research and career outreach? I'm sure your answer is "YES, how can I help?". Well, that leads to my challenge. You can help by supporting CREW Foundation. I along with your 2019 CREW Cleveland Board, are asking for each CREW Cleveland member to make a donation to CREW Foundation. Any donation is appreciated, but a donation of $10 or more is suggested. Yes, for only $10 or the cost of two Grande Lattes at Starbucks, you will play a part in educating women and girls about career opportunities available to them and mentoring relationships for those new to the industry. Who wouldn't want to support that?
As an added bonus, Meeting this challenge also raises the profile of our chapter with CREW Network and includes recognition at Network events.
Do you accept my challenge? I can hear all of the "Yes" responses now. To donate, click here - - DONATE.
Thank you for your support of future female leaders in the Commercial Real Estate industry.

NEW to CREW CLE for 2019 - UCREW/CREW Careers
An exciting new committee has been formed for 2019 as CREW-Cleveland continues to grow and reach further out into our community. We will be teaming up with a local high school and university to promote women in real estate! We have some great leads with both levels of education and will be working diligently to create informative programs, meet-n-greets and potential future networking or intern opportunities for local women - all while increasing their awareness of the many directions they can succeed in the real estate industry in Cleveland!
If interested in assisting with this year's U-CREW/CREW Career events, please contact Lori Crow, CREW Cleveland Chapter Champion, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!

The Style Foundry & Foundry Tour
October 11, 2018:
On October 11, we held a luncheon at the Foundry, Cleveland's community rowing and sailing center. The speaker was Megan Moran of The Style Foundry. Megan educated us on how to dress professionally, on trend and for the seasons. A self-proclaimed minimalist, she feels that women only need a handful of basic clothing items to mix and match! She provided great tips including the differences between business casual, business professional and smart casual. Some attendees even got the chance to shop her closet truck for items she considers must-haves.
New Member Mixer
November 15, 2018
On a wintery day in November, the 15th to be exact, CREW Cleveland gathered at American Interiors next to their cozy fireplace for appetizers, wine and an opportunity to meet our newest members at the annual New Member Mixer! To add to the evening, Carrie Sechel, Entrepreneurial Business Consultant, Speaker and Best-selling Author enlightened our group with her knowledge and experience on breaking free of traditional definitions of a successful career and helping to define your own. She spoke further on how to cultivate your entrepreneurial spirit, either in your current career, or by setting out on your own, starting a business that aligns with your passions. Carrie also led the conversation on work/life balance and learning to live the life we love.
