On November 13th CREW Cleveland gathered at Edwin’s Restaurant in Shaker Square to listen to a group of panelists discuss the future of Shaker Square. Panelists included Wayne Mortensen - Director of Design & Development, Cleveland Neighborhood Progress; Peter Rubin - President, The Coral Company; David Weiss - Mayor, Shaker Heights; Tiffany Graham – Senior Project Director, LAND Studio and Suzanne Hamilton (Moderator) - Vice President Commercial Real Estate, Erie Bank. The Panelists covered a wide range of information concerning the redesign of Shaker Square, including the Square’s history, plans for the future and public reaction to those plans and then answered questions from audience members.  Although not without controversy, the plans unveiled a newly proposed traffic pattern, increased parking solutions, green space, a splash pad and of course a spot for the North Union Farmers Market.  CREW looks forward to watching the plans develop and come to fruition.
