On November 5, CREW Cleveland members Lori Crow, Flori Djulvezan, Liz Dunlap, Diane Strojin, Jennie Church & Laura Reed (see photo L-R) went back to school to promote Commercial Real Estate careers to freshmen and sophomores at St. Joseph Academy, the only all-girls Catholic high school in the City of Cleveland. In the spirit of CREW Careers, these members participated, along with more than 50 other professional women, in the Academy’s 13th Annual Women’s Leadership Symposium. The symposium took place on the Academy’s beautiful campus located on the edge of the Metroparks, or “valley” as it’s referred to in the West Park neighborhood.
The day commenced with a welcome from Mary Ann Corrigan-Davis, Distinguished Alumni and President of the Academy, followed by a keynote address from Justice Melody J. Stewart, the first female, African-American Justice to be elected to Ohio’s Supreme Court.
After the keynote address, our CREW members broke out into two classrooms where they met with three groups of high school freshmen and sophomores, sharing information regarding their careers, their journey that led them to where they are today, along with sage advice that has resulted in their success. In addition, the value of being a CREW member, career opportunities in the CRE industry and leading with CREW were promoted. It was a great opportunity for students to be exposed to CRE career opportunities and for CREW Cleveland members to share their paths and insights with future female leaders.
Thank you to St. Joseph Academy for welcoming us to their symposium and thank you to our CREW members for their time, energy and leadership.
