Moving Forward in the #MeToo Era

Just over 100 members and guests enjoyed the Past-Presidents Leadership Luncheon held at The City Club of Cleveland June 19th.  David Browning of CBRE, Ashley Gault of Tucker Ellis, David O’Neill of Hanna Commercial, and Emily Riepenhoff of Huntington Bank served as panelists lead by moderator (and Past-President) Cheri Henson Smith of RBC Capital.  Cheri took the panelists through mock scenarios to gain their corporate and personal advice for continuing momentum towards gender equality in commercial real estate.  Gender avoidance as reported in a December 2018 Wall Street Journal article is a losing mindset.  Key takeaways include developing a diversity minded company culture, open communication, and confidential (even third party) reporting systems.  Diversity is here to stay and makes for successful businesses.  Thank you to our Past-Presidents Committee for an informative program and to our event sponsors Tucker Ellis, LLP and Hylant.
