On October 11, we held a luncheon at the Foundry, Cleveland’s community rowing and sailing center. The speaker was Megan Moran of The Style Foundry. Megan educated us on how to dress professionally, on trend and for the seasons. A self-proclaimed minimalist, she feels that women only need a handful of basic clothing items to mix and match! She provided great tips including the differences between business casual, business professional and smart casual. Some attendees even got the chance to shop her closet truck for items she considers must-haves.
After the presentation we were given a tour of the Foundry and a lesson on its history and mission. The 65,000 square foot facility is home to a nonprofit rowing facility that is accessible for youth of all income levels, and also a world-class rowing facility that attracts national talent. Local schools hold their rowing practices at the facility, which includes an indoor water tank rowing room – a must for Cleveland rowers! The tour continued with the storage facility that houses the equipment and rowing shells for four local rowing teams. We also visited their courtyard which is centered by one of the largest trees in the city of Cleveland. The tour concluded at the newest location of the infamous script Cleveland signs, nestled right in the Foundry’s backyard. Check out CREW Cleveland with this local landmark pictured above!
